BBL Therapy (Broadband Light Phototherapy)

Advanced skin rejuvenation protocol against rosacea, capillary dilatations, sunspots and photoaging with broadband light technology.

BBL Therapy (Broadband Light Phototherapy)

What is BBL (Broadband Light) Technology?

BBL (BroadBand Light) technologies; They are modern phototherapy systems that target vascular lesions, pigmentation disorders and elasticity losses on the skin surface and lower layers. Unlike classical lasers that focus on a single wavelength, BBL technology uses broad-spectrum light filters and works on the principle of selective photothermolysis. Light energy is absorbed by the target chromophores under the skin, hemoglobin (red pigment in the blood) and melanin (spot pigment), and converted into controlled thermal energy and initiates textural repair without damaging the surrounding healthy tissues.

In Which Situations BBL Is Preferred?

After a detailed clinical examination performed by your dermatologist, when the appropriate indication is determined in the patient's skin phototype, it can be safely applied in the following tables:

  • Rosacea (Rose Disease) & Redness Control: Soothing inflammatory redness attacks and enlarged capillaries on the face, especially on the nose, cheeks and chin.
  • Red Face & Capillary Vascular Dilations (Telangiectasia): Alleviating the visibility of superficial vascular networks on the face and balancing skin tone.
  • Sun and Age Spots: Elimination of freckles, lentigos and tone inequalities caused by UV damage on the face, neck, décolleté and hands.
  • Anti-Photoaging Skin Renewal: Alleviating fine lines and loss of elasticity by increasing the synthesis of collagen and elastin fibers in the dermis with light energy.
  • Pore Tightening & Skin Quality: Strengthening the skin barrier and supporting overall skin radiance.

Application Stages and Patient Comfort

Before the procedure, the skin is cleaned and special eye protection glasses are worn. Medical cooling gel is applied to the application area, which increases light transmission and cools the skin. With the BBL head, targeted millisecond light pulses are made on the skin. Thanks to the integrated sapphire cooling system of the device, patient comfort is maintained at a high level; A slight warmth and a feeling of rubber bumps may be felt during the procedure. The session takes approximately 20-30 minutes depending on the width of the area to be treated.

Number of Sessions and Effect Process

The treatment protocol is determined by the physician according to the person's clinical picture and the intensity of the redness or blemish. Cures of 2 to 4 sessions, planned at intervals of 3–4 weeks, are generally recommended. While a calming effect is observed in vascular rashes from the first sessions, in spot applications, the spots first darken slightly and within a few days, they separate from the skin surface as micro rashes and are replaced by a clear skin tone.

Things to Consider After the Procedure

  • Hot water, sauna, Turkish bath, solarium and intense sweating activities should be avoided for the first 24 hours after the procedure.
  • Broad-spectrum dermatological sunscreen creams should be used regularly and renewed throughout the day.
  • The skin should be kept moist and aggressive cosmetic products should be avoided. Barrier repairing and soothing medical care products recommended by the physician should be applied. After BBL treatment, a significant freshness and vitality is noticed on the skin.
  • Any slight crusting or flaking that may occur should never be peeled off by hand, and the natural shedding process of the skin should be waited for.
